Reminder: Not Smoking Cessation Devices

Just a reminder for those who are thiking that electronic cigarettes are the end-all solution for smoking addiction:

North American FDA boards have not approved these items with the label of 'smoking cessation' devices. Though some - not all, but some - electronic cigarette models have been found to contain minute traces of carcinogens, the amount of these is much less than found in normal cigarette smoke.

It seems the most sticky point the FDA boards are concerned with are these trace amounts of carginogens. Therefore, they have mostly allowed electronic cigarettes to be sold and purchased in most North American, UK and various worldwide locations - with the strict rule that people DO NOT officially report that these items are smoking cessation tools or try to tell people that these are FDA approved items for smoking cessation.

I have already written that, in my opinion, these items can be used in a harm reduction program and even a smoking cessation program but I've had to be careful to assert that this is my opinion, "not according to the FDA" or that this is my opinion and eCigarettes still shouldn't be considered smoking cessation devices all on their own.

To read my approved article at the Health Mad site:

Ecigarettes: Not Smoking Cessation Devices

This article provides more information on why e-smokes aren't allowed to be considered smoking cessation devices and THE REAL TRUTH about the fact that, with these items, users are still "smoking."

As an electronic cigarette seller/representative, I am taking every extra effort to be clear on this matter, and I hope that readers will take care to note the more than occasional disclaimers I write.
